MEENA BAZAR the name attached to our culture from years together not only to our culture but the oldest profession of the world. If King's called it by the name of Devdasi's or Bandies then the Mughal's had called it by Tawaif or Rakhael and the Britishers called it prostitution. But today this profession has come out from those Bazaar's, lanes and streets and had taken a place in the big bungalows and flats with a new name also and that is "CALL GIRLS". Our high society and young generation has got big importance for this word "CALL GIRLS", but no one has tried to understand the problem and life of these innocent girls. Every one who comes to this market is the buyer of the body and not the soul.

Meena Bazar is the story of this kind of twin girls. Meena (Roopa Ganguly) and Mona (Poonam Dass Gupta) who are not real sisters but mean more than that to each other. Day for the world is night for them and every night a day. But one night when they go out for dinner with their friend Raja (Sandhu Raaj), everybody sitting there in that five star hotel insult them. Which Raja could not tolerate and starts fighting with those people, seeing the problem Meena and Mona run away from there. As they come out of the hotel they both get into a taxi. Seeing the two lone girls at midnight the taxi driver tries to make some vulgar passes, which leads to a quarrel and this brings about the police.

Although they escape from the group of taxi drivers they couldn't escape from the two police officers who raped them.

Mona being the younger of them couldn't bear this insult on her privacy and in a moment of weakness tries to commit suicide. Meena stops her and then both the girls decide to give up this degrading profession and try to join society with a fresh start in life. Meena requests Mona that in the new life they will work in whatever job they can get and if there is any interest from any suitable man, they would talk about their past truthfully.

Both the girls come to the new city Cochin and moves into a middle class society, their search for a job leads Meena to Rajesh (Om Puri) who is a widower with a baby girl Pinky (Lakshmi) and Mona finds affections from a young man Vinod (Vikram Razdan) who is also their neighbour. Mona goes all out for Vinod who is a very conservative character, who has thrown his mother and sister (Shradha Verma) out of his house because his sister wanted to work on stage and in films. Meena strongly believes that one day their past will come and face them and destroy their life. They are trying to live, and force Mona to tell the truth to Vinod.

There Rajesh starts searching his home in Meena's life and his daughter Pinky finds her mother in Meena. But Meena knew it very well that when Rajesh will come to know that what she was? Then what is going to happen.

Will Mona tell the truth to Vinod?

What happened to Meena? Is Rajesh going to accept her or the society forces Meena to come back to MEENA BAZAR.
